Emma Jane Logan, 83, passed away at 4:22 p.m. on Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at Eunice Smith Nursing Home.
She was born on June 17, 1934 in Alton, IL the daughter of Woodrow and Mary (Cantrell) Twitty.
Emma married Robert “Bob” Logan on February 9, 1952 in Alton. He survives.
Emma was a member of Main Street Methodist in Alton. She retired from the Alton School District where she worked in accounting. Emma was a member of Business and Professional Women. She volunteered at Caravan and Oasis. Emma enjoyed crocheting and spoiling her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband she is survived by three children, Marsha (Marc) Turpin of Jerseyville, Robert “Mike” M. (Marilyn) Logan of Canal Winchester, OH, Melinda (Bob) Hassel Jr. of Jerseyville; nine grandchildren, Amy Melchert (Dennis), Chris Turpin (Jennifer), Jill Murphy (Dave), Jayme O’Brien (Derek), Marc Turpin Jr., Jeremy Logan (Rachel), Andrew Hassel (Marie), Alex Hassel (Emily) and Adam Hassel (Kara); 13 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; three siblings, Margaret Solis, Robert Twitty, Gene Twitty;
She is preceded in death by three siblings, Hershel Niedeffer, Nancy Finch and Rosemary Rickman.
Visitation will be from 2pm to 5pm on Sunday, July 9, 2017 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton where funeral services will be held at 11am on Monday, July 10, 2017 with Rev. Charles Schwaab officiating.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
