Elvin Gene Benefiel, Jr., 54, passed away 7:45 a.m., Thursday, February 16, 2017 at Integrity Healthcare of Wood River.
Born in Greenville on November 22, 1962, he was the son of Leona (Schneider) Benefiel and the late Elvin Gene Benefiel, Sr.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by three brothers, Ronald Miner and his children Katie and Michael, David (Theresa) Miner and Mark Benefiel and his children, Angie, Aaron and Nichole; three sisters, Carol Layne (David Ruede), Lori (Kevin) Durnin and their children, Rachel (Mario) Sottosanti, Kari Durnin, Phillip (Stephanie) Durnin, Lisa Benefiel; and great nieces and nephews, Kaitlyn, Kyle, Kendall, Mario III and Leonardo.
Visitation will from 12:30 p.m. until time of service at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18 at Marks Mortuary in Wood River.
Burial will be in Wanda Cemetery in South Roxana.
Memorials may be made to the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) for Schizophrenia Research.
