Elmer Gene Lovelace, 88, died at 7:49 a.m. Monday, June 21, 2010 at his home. Born August 18, 1921 in Blue Springs, MO, he was the son of Elmer D. and Cora Lea Lovelace.
He served with the 2nd Marine Division of the U.S. Marine Corps from 1941-1945 and retired as a mold maker from Owens Illinois Glass in Alton. In 1946 in Alton, he married the former Alma Elliott. She survives. Also surviving are two sons, Dean Lovelace and his wife Carol of Godfrey and Dave Lovelace and his wife Jameela of Godfrey, two grandchildren, Ann and Hope Lovelace. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Maurine Pensinger and Virginia White.
There will be no services. Gent Funeral Home in Alton is in charge of arrangements.
