Ellen Marie Hawk, 71, died at 8:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at her home. Born October 30, 1946 in Alton, she was the daughter of Lloyd Milton and Nellie Ellen (Elder) Hawk. Ellen was a self-employed house cleaner retiring in 2016. She was a member of the Gospel Tabernacle Church in Godfrey. She is survived by her twin brother, Allen Milton Hawk and his wife Kathleen of Leesburg, VA, nephew, Travis Hawk and wife Michelle of Mooresville, NC, niece, Krista Hawk and Nick Mayorga of Lovettsville, VA and her former sister-in-law, Dianah Hawk. Ellen would like to thank many friend for helping her with her cats, food and washing including, Norma Pinell, Jackie Monroe, Sandy Cleveland, Christina Daniels, Karen White, Melissa Valyo, Cynthia Miller, Karrie Hendricks, Diane Rogers, Barb Hand and Calin Daniels. Also thank you to all the church family for their prayers, cards and visits. To Monie and Rhonda Palmer, Ellen could never have gotten through this last year without their help. God bless them always. To Gina and Sam Shaw and children, thank you for visits and playing music for me. An angel of the Lord volunteered to spend my last remaining days taking care of me. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, November 24, 2017 at the Gospel Tabernacle Church where funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 25, 2017. Reverend Alfred Daves will officiate. Burial will be at Ebenezer Cemetery in West Alton, MO. Memorials may be made to the Gospel Tabernacle Church.
