Ellen Colley, 61, passed away at 9:35 a.m. Sunday, December 13, 2015 at her home.
Born Nov. 13, 1954 in Highland, Ill., she was a daughter of George and Marcella (Funston) Gibson.
Ellen worked as a school bus driver for the Bethalto School District.
She married Jerry Colley Nov. 28, 1970, and they shared 45 years of marriage.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Wesley (Delilah) Colley of Cottage Hills; 3 grandchildren, Elizabeth, Catlyn, and Wesley James Colley; a sister, Rose Ambuhl; and two brothers, Dean Gibson of Roxana/Wood River and George “Buddy” Gibson of Louisiana.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Pat Christian.
The family will hold a memorial visitation Saturday, Dec. 19 at Lifebrook Church in Bethalto beginning at 2 p.m. until services at 4 p.m. Visitation will then continue until 6 p.m.
Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society.
