Ella L. Musgrave, 88, died at 7:20 p.m. Sunday, March 7, 2010 at Alton Memorial Hospital.  Born July 8, 1921 at home in Moro, IL, the 12th child of William and Ida (Brandt) Manns.  She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Alton.  On August 10, 1941 in Palmyra, MO, she married Max A. Musgrave.  He preceded her in death on December 21, 2000.  Surviving are two daughters; Donna M. Covington of East Alton and Karen S. Hatcher and her husband James of Godfrey, six grandchildren; Vernon Dale Covington of O’Fallon, MO, Jana M. and John Sneed of Rockwall, TX, Julie G. and Craig Jansen of Two Rivers, WI, Kerri L. and Robert Callahan of Huntersville, NC, Lauri S. Langley of Alton and Jamie and Gina Hatcher of Godfrey, nine great grandchildren; Dale and Amber Covington, Daniel and David Jansen, Jonathan and Jessica Sneed, Cameron and MacKenzie Callahan and Elana Hatcher, one great great grandchild, Alyssa Baker, one brother, Alcide “Babe” Manns of Columbia, MO and numerous nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son-in-law, Reverend Vernon Covington and 10 brothers and sisters; Louis Manns, Fred Manns, Ida Dorsey, Henry Manns, an infant daughter, Marie Manns, John Manns, Lena Henderson, Marie Hill, Joe Manns and Ed Manns.  Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at Calvary Baptist Church in Alton.  Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Calvary Baptist Church in Alton.  Reverend Andre’ Dobson will officiate.  Burial will be at Upper Alton Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to Calvary Baptist Church in Alton.  Gent Funeral Home in Alton is in charge of arrangements.
