Elizabeth Stockhausen

Elizabeth A. Stockhausen (Baierlein), 93, of Godfrey passed away at 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at Eden Village in Glen Carbon, Illinois.

She was born August 19, 1931 in Edwardsville, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Otto and Dymple Baierlein. She married Lawrence F. Stockhausen on July 14, 1956 at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Wood River. He preceded her in death on October 27, 2006. Elizabeth was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Godfrey.

Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and James Fitzgerald of Los Gatos, California, a son and daughter-in-law, Steve Stockhausen and Barb Frolik of Edwardsville, three grandchildren, Erica Fitzgerald of Santee, California, Christopher Fitzgerald of Los Gatos, California, and Tyler Frolik of Edwardsville. 

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack and Gene Baierlein.

A mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, January 27, 2025 at St Ambrose Catholic Church in Godfrey.

Burial will be at St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Father Steven Janoski will officiate. 

Memorials may be made to the 5A’s Animal Shelter in Godfrey. Gent Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
