Betty (Elizabeth) Fortschneider, Tarrant, Scoggins formally of Alton, 76, has gone to our Heavenly Father on May 26, 2016 after a very long illness in her life. During her illness she was always supported by her sisters; Patricia Bracht, Margaret Dunn and Judy Thompson, daughter; Pam Baker and son Ted Tarrant. She was born July 31, 1939 and was the 2nd oldest daughter of the late Paul and Eva (Mandorca) Fortschneider family. Betty attended St. Patrick’s grade school and graduated from Marquette Catholic High School. She worked at St. Joseph Hospital, Olin Corporation and Reeves Café; and was a very religious person, enjoying reading the bible and working on puzzles. Betty was cared for and loved by the nurses and staff at Aperion Care of Litchfield. She is survived by one daughter; Pam and her husband Bradley Baker, one son Theodore James Tarrant Jr., two grandchildren; Tara Nicole and her husband Thomas Charles “T.C.” Lowe and Ryne Bradley Baker, great grandchildren; Henry Warren Lowe and twins twin sons Austin Bradley Baker and Taylor James Baker, Nixon James Tarrant and Abigail Tarrant, her sisters; Patricia (Don) Bracht, Margaret (Richard) Dunn and Judy (Larry) Thompson and many nieces and nephews. We know she is in a better place in heaven with our Heavenly Father but will be sadly missed. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 1, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Godfrey. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Alton with Father Steve Pohlman officiating. Memorials may be made to Marquette Catholic High School.
