Eleanor S. Nolte, 102, passed away at 11:32 a.m. Friday May 19, 2017 at Calhoun Nursing and Rehab.

She was born on June 19, 1914 in Golden Eagle, IL the daughter of Charles Goetze and Anna Fester. Eleanor married Curtis Nolte on November 17, 1937 in Brussels at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church. 

She was a member of the St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Brussels where she was a member of Dorcas.

She loved playing skipbo, cooking for her family, making turtle soup for the annual turtle soup supper, and quilting.

She is survived by her daughter Bernell Weigel of Golden Eagle, IL; two sons and daughters-in-law, Curt (Karen) Nolte of Troy Michigan, Ervin (Rita) Nolte of Golden Eagle, IL; seven grandchildren, Irene, Dan, Keith, Hope, Marie, Michael, and Mark; Twelve Great Grandchildren, Alex, Mallory, Megan, Brett, Kyle, Collin, Cody, Chelsea, Neva, Kira, Ellie, and Blake; four Great-Great Grandchildren, Jace, Lila, Wesley, and Farrah.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Curtis Nolte, and her son Kermit Nolte.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday May 23, 2017 at Gress, Kallal, and Schaaf Funeral Home in Brussels.

Funeral service will take place on Wednesday May 24, 2017 at St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Brussels at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Jason Reed Officiating.

Burial will follow at St. Matthew’s Cemetery in Brussels.

Memorials may be made to:  St. Matthew’s Lutheran Church in Brussels, Calhoun Nursing and Rehabilitation Activity Fund, and the Dorcas Society.
