Elbert Watt

Elbert “Joe” Joseph Watt, 69, died at 1125 a.m. Sunday, November 19, 2017 at his home in Wood River.  Born July 1, 1948 in Alton, he was the son of Elbert D. and Edna Lorraine (Kochersperger) Watt. Mr. Watt retired as owner/operator of Ashly Auto Glass. He also worked with his two sons at their contracting job, Watt and Sons. On May 27, 1969 he married former Janet McGuiggan in Alton. She survives. A son, Shannon Joseph Watt preceded him in death on December 29, 2007. Surviving is a daughter, Michelle Watt of Wood River, a son, Jeremy Watt (Cari) of Holiday Shores, seven grandchildren, Gavin Rodden, Willow Watt, Tayin Rodden, Savannah Watt, Kaylie Watt, Shannan Ulrich and Mia Watt. Also survived by three brothers, Darwin Watt (Jamie) of St. Louis, Eric Watt (Mary) of Godfrey, and Montylee Watt (Ginny) of Iowa.  Memorial services will be held on Tuesday November 28, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. at Open Door Fellowship Church in Alton.
