Elaine Dinges

Elaine S. Dinges, nee Henzell, 75, of Smithton, IL, born Saturday, March 17, 1951, in East St. Louis, IL, passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2026 at SSM Health DePaul Hospital in Saint Louis, MO.

Elaine worked as a Customer Service Supervisor for Illinois American Water Company. She attended St. Augustine of Canterbury in Belleville, IL. She had a masters degree in Sociology and a minor in History. She loved to spend time at the zoo, art museum and science center with her family.

She was preceded in death by her:

• Step-Son: Jack Dinges Jr.
• Parents: Ray S. and Audre A., nee Nash, Henzell
• Brother: Kurt R. Henzell

Visitation: Visitation from 9:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at St. Augustine of Canterbury at 1910 W. Belle St. in Belleville, IL.

Services: Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 24, 2026 at St. Augustine of Canterbury in Belleville, with Msgr. Bill McGhee officiating. Interment will follow at Valhalla Gardens of Memory in Belleville, IL.
