Eileen “Midge” Palen, 67, died at 5:17 p.m. on January 22, 2018 at Alton Memorial Hospital. She was born September 6, 1950 in Framingham, MA the daughter of Edward N. and Eileen Claire (Jensen) Palen. She was a home health care nurse for many years. Surviving are one sister, Diane Bock (James) of Godfrey, three brothers, Dr. James Palen (Shirley) of Cape Girardeau, MO, Michael Palen (Sandy) of Bradenton, FL and Joseph Palen of Marshall, MO and one special sister in law, Linda Palen of Wood River. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Timothy Palen Sr. and Edward N. Palen Jr., one sister, Sally Rosack, three nieces, Julie Ann Bock, Joli Harding, and Melissa “Missy” Palen and one nephew, Robert Parker Jr. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 26, 2018 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Pastor Chris Clark Officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery in Alton. Memorials may be made to 5A’s animal shelter in Alton.
