Eileen June Howard, 91, of Granite City, IL, passed away at 12:42 a.m. Wed. Oct. 29, 2025 at her home surrounded by her family while under hospice care.
She was born Apr. 16, 1934 in Madison, IL to the late Thomas and Birdie Louise (Maxon) Hobbs.
On Dec. 11, 1967, she and Robert Lee “Bob” Howard were married in Cairo, IL. He survives.
Mrs. Howard had worked as a parole officer. She was also a CNA, working in nursing homes and for hospice, caring for others. She was a member of Freedom Worship Center and loved the Lord. She was a bible scholar and teacher, and had bible study for 10 years in her home. She and Bob had also served as missionaries to the Philippines. Closer to home, she was known as a loving wife, mother and grandmother and an excellent cook who liked to quilt at the Senior Center. She loved to take long rides in the car and talk to people about Jesus.
In addition to her husband, Bob, she is survived by her children, Kathy (Rick) Sarber, Jennifer Beadle, Cindy Kleuskens, Donna (Ron) Geiser, Dan (Lola) Kleuskens, Mary (Brett Wise) Murphy, and Betty (Reinaldo) Moreno, also survived by the grandchildren she raised, Eric (Marilyn) Edwards, Eron Edwards, Hollee (Tom) Pinkerton, Annie (Vernon) Kimbro, Misty (Randall) Hayes, and Emy (Nathen) Middleton, a sister, Ginger Howland, 122 grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, as well as countless friends she made throughout her lifetime.
Besides her parents, Thomas and Birdie Hobbs, she was preceded in death by 3 children, David Kleuskens, Debra Edwards, and Angela Barnhart, 5 sisters, and 3 brothers.
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Mon. Nov. 3, 2025, where services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tues. Nov. 4, 2025 with Pastor Gary Cook officiating. Cremation will follow.
Memorials may be made to Freedom Worship Center.
