Eileen Ann Eberhart, 92, of Bethalto, passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 27, 2023, at her home in Bethalto, IL.
She was born on October 27, 1930, to the late Herman and Margaret (Cooper) Eberhart in Moro, IL. Eileen began working as a packer for Owens Illinois at the age of 15 and continued to work there for 35 years.
Eileen loved life, pickling banana peppers, cross stitching and quilting. She loved to share her talents and gifts with friends and neighbors. Eileen passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving friends and pets; Boots, Bailey, and Cutie. Eileen also loved her dogs and loved to watch and feed the birds outside.
She is survived by her sisters, Irene Linkeman and Laverne Linkeman; several nieces and nephews; dear friends, Jamie Keith, Masia Geldert Murphy, and Betty Rose-Taylor; many wonderful neighbors; and the Calixto Family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Hellen Mennemeyer, Leona Daube, Bill Eberhart, Elmer Eberhart, and Harold Eberhart.
Per her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and professional services are being handled by Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto. Eileen's dear friends will be hosting a Celebration of Life on Sunday, October 15, 2023, from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm, at Culp Lane Park in Bethalto. A private burial at a later date will take place at the St. James Cemetery in Edwardsville.
