Edward S. Jenkins, 77, died at 11:55 p.m. on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL.
He was born October 20, 1941 in Alton the son of Coy A. and Mary H. (Hauck) Jenkins. He was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Godfrey. He retired after many years as a truck driver with Ferrell Gas. On August 3, 1963 in Alton he married Janet Elaine (Wright) and she survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Theresa Cretin (Stanley) of St. Peters, MO and one son, Tony Jenkins (Deanna) of Wood River, two grandchildren, Ryan Cretin and Daniel Jenkins, two great grandchildren, Finley Cretin and Jace Walker, one sister, Evelyn Bunt (Donald, Sr.) of Rosewood Heights.
He was preceded in death by one brother, David Jenkins.
A memorial mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Godfrey. Father Steven Janoski officiating.
Burial will be private at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Godfrey.
Memorials may be made to the St. Vincent DePaul Society or the 5A’s Animal Shelter.
