Edward Ruble

Edward Wayne Ruble, age 83 of Keyesport, passed away at home Sunday, December 21, 2025, peacefully surrounded by his family.

Funeral will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 3, 2025, at the Vera Baptist Church in Vera, Illinois. Visitation will be held prior to the service starting at 10:00 a.m. Donnell-Wiegand Funeral Home, Greenville, in charge of arrangements. A lunch will follow the service in the church dining hall for those attending.

Edward was born April 16, 1942, at home in Vienna, Illinois, the son of John Freeman and Mary Frances (Kincade) Ruble. He graduated from Eisenhower High School, Blue Island, Illinois in 1960. He was married to Dixie L. Wetherell from 1960 to 1964. They had a daughter, Donna Jean. Edward married Patricia L. (Berry) Edmondson in 1969. Patricia brought a daughter, Deneen Frances, to the marriage. Ed and Pat had Eric Wayne, Shane Patrick, and Shelly Evon. In 1979 the welcomed Dustin Micheal into the family.

Preceding Edward in death are his parents John Freeman and Mary Frances Ruble. His brothers Richard John Ruble and Robert Lewis Ruble. His grandson Ethan Noble Crisman, and best friend Bill McCarty.

Surviving him are his children: Donna J. Ruble of Keyesport, Deneen (Rick) Camp of Calhoun, GA., Eric (Lisa) Ruble of Greenville, Shane Ruble of St. Louis, Shelly (Darin) Crisman Shook of Keyesport, and Dustin Ruble of Keyesport. Sister JoAnn (Ruble) Mathis of Lathrop, CA, and grandchildren: Mark Ruble, Dena Higgins, Dalton Crisman, Haele Goodin, Zachary Ruble, Audrey Clasby, Chase Ruble, Mia Ruble, Michael Shook, Justin Hague, and Cheyanne Hague. Seven great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
