Edward Michael Amburg, 83, died on November 16, 2018 at his home.
He was born on May 4, 1935 in Alton, Illinois to Charles M. & Alma C. (Haenny) Amburg. He married the late Dorothy Stites in 1956 and were later divorced. He later married Barbara (Bobbie) Tindall Frueh in 1984.
He had a bachelor's degree from Shurtleff College in Alton and worked as an assistant Mill superintendent at Conagra Flour Mill in Alton. Edward was a member of the Grafton Masonic Lodge #341, Order of Eastern Star, the Grafton United Methodist Church, Ainad Shrine Temple, Scottish Rites, Grafton Jaycees, an alderman in Grafton for 22 years, and very active in American Heart Association.
Edward is survived by his wife; children: Mike (Alison) Amburg of Grafton, Chuck (Jane) Amburg of Jerseyville, David Amburg of Grafton, and Elaine (Daniel) Whys of Bunker Hill, and David (Cindy) Frueh of Medora; fifteen grandchildren, and eighteen great-grandchildren with one on the way.
Edward was preceded in death by his stepdaughter: Susie and his great-grandson: Lucas.
A visitation will be held on Monday, November 19, 2018 at the Grafton United Methodist Church from 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. There will be Masonic Funeral Rites held before visitation beginning at 3:45 p.m.
A funeral will be held on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at the Grafton United Methodist Church at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Jeff Stahl will be officiating the funeral with burial at the Scenic Hill Cemetery in Grafton.
Memorials may be made to The Shriners Hospital for Children, OSF Hospice, or The Grafton Historical Society.
