Edward Joseph Lubrant, 82, of Gillespie, IL, died at his residence on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 at 9:15pm. He was born September 26, 1941 to Edward J. Lubrant & Susan Rose Dorko Lubrant. He married Brenda Kay Ferguson Lubrant on March 22, 1975 in Gillespie, IL. He was a retired coal miner for Monterey Coal Co. He was also a sales representative for All American T Shirt Co. He formerly worked for Owens Illinois Glass Co. Edward was a member of the United Mine Workers Local 1613 where he was also financial secretary. He was a member of the Holy Cross Cemetery Board and the Illinois Valley Board for 25 years. He was a former Wilsonville Resident. He was an avid sports fan and sports statistics. He loved St. Louis Cardinals. Ed never knew a stranger. He enjoyed drinking coffee with his buddies. He is survived by his spouse, Brenda Lubrant of Gillespie, IL, children, Greg Lubrant of Springfield, IL, Brad (Crystal) Lubrant of Naperville, IL, Kendra (Mark) Liedtke of Castle Rock, CO, Jason Lubrant of Gillespie, IL, grandchildren, Jonathon Lubrant, Jacob Lubrant, Sydney Liedtke, Marshall Liedtke, Derek Bultema, Broc Bultema, 2 great grandchildren, siblings, Tony (Vicki) Lubrant of Gillespie, IL, Karen (George) Firth of Benld, IL, Sharon Ferrari of Gillespie, IL. Edward was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Kimberly Lubrant Bultema and brother in law, Larry Ferrari. Friends may call on Friday, December 15, 2023 at SS Simon & Jude Church, Gillespie from 9:30 am until 12:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, December 15, 2023 at SS Simon & Jude Church, Gillespie at 12:00 pm. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Gillespie, IL.
