Edward Frederick Geske, 85, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Sunday April 12, 2020 at Cedarhurst of Godfrey.
He was born March 20, 1935 in Hardin, IL the son of the late Samuel and Vera (Kress) Geske.
On September 5, 1954 he married Bettie Lou Alverson in Grafton, IL. She preceded him in death on May 31, 2012.
Edward was a truck driver with CB&W Transport. When not working, Edward enjoyed camping, fishing and boating with family.
He is survived by two sons and their spouses, Duane (Hilda) Geske of Brighton and Ronald (Paivi) Geske of Godfrey; a daughter, Linda (Kent) Jackson of Godfrey; three grandchildren, Diane Serio, John Geske, Cody Jackson; four great grandchildren, Dean, Maiya, Grant, Ralph; 3 sisters and their spouses, Lela (Robert) Ulery of South Roxana, IL, Lois (“Scotty”) Gerald Scott of Oak Ridge, TN, Leona (Mike) Barnett of Alton, IL; a brother, Michael (Phyllis) Geske of Granite City and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Cheryl Ann (Sherri), and a brother, Earl Geske.
A private graveside service will be Thursday, April 16, 2020 at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey, IL with Reverend Richard Barnett officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to St Jude Children’s Hospital.
