Edward “Butch” H. Snyder, 75, of Brussels, went to be with our Lord on Saturday, May 27, 2017 at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
He was born on June 9, 1941 the son of Peter and Mary (Pohlman) Snyder of Batchtown. Edward married Ida Klocke on December 13, 1966 at St. Mary’s in Brussels.
Edward was a member of St. Mary’s Church in Brussels. He worked for the Glass Works, the Brussels Ferry and the Golden Eagle Ferry. He loved mowing, farming, hunting, fishing, and embroidering.
He is survived by his wife Ida Klocke; three daughters, Joan (Gary) Titus, JoAnn (Donnie) Bieker, and Bernice Snyder; one daughter-in-law, Becky Snyder; six grandchildren, Chris Titus, Dylan Bieker, David Titus, Brittany Snyder, Travis Snyder, and Owen Snyder; two brothers; Charlie (Linda) Snyder and Bob Snyder; one sister, Mary (Bruce) Farenholtz; four sisters-in-law, Violet (Jr.) Sievers, Nancy Klocke, Mary (Randy) White, and Lucy (Matt) Holliday; four brothers-in-law, Tom Klocke, Lee Klocke, Francis Canepa, and Gene Glaser; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Paul Edward Snyder; his grandson, Edward Joseph Titus; three brothers, August Snyder, Bill Snyder, and Jake Snyder; two sisters, Eleanor Bishop and Anna Mae Kuhlman; two brothers-in-law, Jim Klocke and Bill Klocke; three sisters-in-law, Vera Canepa, Pat Glaser, and Linda Pohlman.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 pm Wednesday May 31, 2017 at Gress, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Brussels.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am Thursday June 1, 2017 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Brussels with Fr. Don Roberts celebrant.
Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to charity of one’s choice.
