Edmond H. Eden, 90, asleep in Jesus, Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at Rosewood Care Center in Edwardsville.
He was born on July 1, 1922 in Dorsey, IL, the son of Ellie and Della (Bertels) Eden.
He married Anamelia M. Evers on July 6, 1947 in Prairetown, IL. She survives.
Edmond worked in the scheduling department for Owens Illinois for over 32 years, retiring in 1976. He was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Prairietown and enjoyed farming, electrical work and gardening.
He is survived by three sons and their wives, Keith and Marcia Eden of Dorsey, Craig and Ellen Eden of Dorsey, and Brent and Nancy Eden of Wyoming, MI; eight grandchildren and their spouses, Kim and Dana Dann-Messier, Lance Eden, Neil and Christy Eden, Blaine and Mindy Eden, Joel and Erica Eden, Jason and Joanna Eden, Scott and Mandi Eden, and Timothy and Amanda Eden; eighteen great- grandchildren; an aunt, Leona Bruckert of Bunker Hill; and a sister-in-law, JoAnn Eden of Prairietown.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Lewis Eden; and a grandson, Mark Eden.
Visitation will be from 1 pm to 4 pm on Sunday, February 3, 2013 at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto. Visitation will continue Monday, February 4, 2013 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Prairietown from 9:30 am until the time of service at 10:30 am Pastor Dale Skeesick will officiate.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
Memorials may be given to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Prairietown, St Peter’s Lutheran School Endowment Fund, or Lutheran Senior Services Endowment Fund.
