Edith Millicent McAfoos, 82, died at 3:24 p.m. Wednesday, July 9, 2025 at Alton Memorial Hospital.
Born March 4, 1943 in Logan Port, Indiana, she was the daughter of James W. Morgan Sr. and Edith (Rice) Morgan. She retired as Director of Supportive to School Work from Lewis & Clark Community College.
On August 21, 1965 she married Stanley E. McAfoos in New Orleans. He preceded her in death on July 12, 2020.
Surviving are two daughters, Marcy Bosoluke (Phil), Meme Evans (Tim), one son, Morgan McAfoos (Tina), five grandchildren, Annie, Maggie, and Jack Evans, Evan Bosoluke, and Mason McAfoos. Also surviving is a brother, Jim Morgan and a sister, Bronwyn McGowen.
Visitation will be from 2:00-5:00 p.m. Sunday, July 13, 2025 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Graveside services will be private at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.
