Eddie R. Funkhouser, 75 of Godfrey, went to be with the Lord at his home on Friday, July 1, 2016.
He was born on January 19, 1941 in Alton, Illinois to the late Hobert O. & Dorothy L. (Braboy) Funkhouser.
Eddie retired from Owens-Illinois after 50 years as a machinist. He was a United States Air Force Veteran, member of Brown Street Baptist Church in Alton, Board Member of Camp Manitoumi and Awana Leader.
Eddie married June (Wooldridge) Funkhouser on December 5, 1957 in Jennings, Missouri. She survives and resides in Godfrey.
Other survivors include 1 daughter and son in law; Christine & Tim Croxton of Wood River, 3 sons & daughters in law; Joe & Janice Funkhouser of Ankeny, IA., Jeff Funkhouser of Texas, Jim & Cindy Funkhouser of Rosewood Heights, 11 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, 1 brother & sister in law; Bill & Peggy Funkhouser of Godfrey.
Preceded in death by his parents and 1 grandson; T. Michael Croxton
Visitation will be from 4:00PM to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at Targhetta & Wooldridge Funeral in Brighton
Funeral service will be at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at Targhetta & Wooldridge Funeral Home in Brighton
Rev. Aaron Love will officiate.
Burial will take place at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 6, 2016.
Memorials may be made to Camp Manitoumi or Brown Street Baptist Church Youth Group.
