Earl E. Hazelwonder, 87, died at 1:18 a.m. Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at Advent Health Celebration, Celebration, Florida. Born December 2, 1933 in Hardin, IL, he was the son of George and Freda Irene (Graham) Hazelwonder.
Mr. Hazelwonder worked in sales and was a member of Heartland Baptist Church in Alton. On January 23, 1966 he married the former Karol Clark in Alton. She survives.
Also surviving are four children, Mike Madison of Evergreen, CO, Kim Harttnet of Kirkwood, MO, Jeff Madison of Godfrey, and Laura Krawczak (Chris) of Edwardsville, 13 grandchildren; Andrew, Haley, Matthew, Sarah, Patrick, Jacob, Jonnie, Joe, Jessica, Bradley, Katie, Lauren, and Amanda, and 12 great grandchildren; Aubrey, Eddie, Evan, Nash, Aiden, Christopher, Bo, Eve, Duke, Caralynn, Ryan and Olivia and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by two brothers, Berdette Hazelwonder (Judith) of Godfrey and Merle Hazelwonder (Lori) of Godfrey, and a sister, JoAnn Williams of Bethalto.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Earl Bradley Hazelwonder and a granddaughter, Elizabeth.
Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday, March 14, 2021 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 15, 2021 at Heartland Baptist Church in Alton. Reverend Alex Melton will officiate. Memorials may be made to Heartland Baptist Church.
