Dwight Patterson, 91, formerly of Godfrey, passed away Monday, December 10, 2018 at Loch Haven Nursing Home in Macon, Missouri.
He was born August 11, 1927, in Campbell, Missouri, the of Elmus Gene and Edna Bernice (Pritchett) Patterson. Dwight married Colleen Marie Weeks on September 4, 1948, in Piggott, Arkansas. She preceded him in death in 2016.
Survivors include three children, David Patterson of California, Starlene Mitchell of Callao, Missouri, and Charles Scott Patterson and his wife Chris of Benld, Illinois; seven grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren, one half-sister Connie Patterson and numerous cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Dwight served in the Navy during WWII. He was in sales and owned his own business CDP supplies for many years. Dwight was a member of Berean Bible Church in Alton. Dwight and his wife created a group called the Sunny Side Singers. This group, which included both Dwight and his wife Colleen and four other individuals, would go sing in different nursing homes throughout the area. This was something they enjoyed for many years.
Visitation will be from 10:30 am until time of service at 11:30 am, Saturday, December 15, 2018, at Elias, Kallal, and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey.
Memorials may be given to The Alzheimer's Association or Loch Haven Nursing Home Special Care Unit in Macon, MO.
