Dwain Sellars

Dwain Charles Sellars (67) of Pearl, Illinois passed away in the arms of his children at St. John's Hospital in Springfield, IL on January 4th at 3:33pm.

Dwain was born in Alton, Illinois to Paul and Dorris (Barkley) Sellars on May 12th 1958. He attended East Alton Wood River High School and graduated from Southwestern in 1976.

He then attended University of Rolla and went on to be an electrician for I.B.E.W Local 649. Known to his brothers as 'Wanger', Dwain built lifelong friendships throughout his career.

Dwain is survived by his three children, Patrick Lewandowski of Clarksville TN, Trisha Sellars-Kamp (Bradley) of Piasa IL, and Miranda Sellars (Christopher) of East Alton. He was very proud of his children and loved to take them on exciting adventures.

Later in life, Dwain spent his time gardening, treasure hunting, pocketing lighters, playing slot machines, eating fried chicken, being Uncle D, and spending time with his beloved grandchildren Dalton, Aubrey, and Valerie of Piasa, IL.

Dwain is proceeded in death by his mother Doris, his little sister Kimmy Sellars, his uncle Vernell Sellars, his brother-in-law Randy Malone, and other loved uncles, cousins, family members, and friends.

Survived by his father Paul, his little brother Jay Sellars and his older sister Cindy Malone, along with many family members and friends who will miss him deeply. 

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, January 24, 2026 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Following the service, a celebration of life dinner will be held at Johnsons Corner in Alton. Burial will be private for immediate family at Green Cemetery in Bluffs IL.
