Dustin Ryan Rister, 37, died at 11:15 p.m. Monday, February 19, 2024.
Born September 27, 1986 in Rantoul, IL, he was the son of Jeff and Tammie Lea (Hellrung) Smith of Golden Eagle, IL. Dustin served in the U.S. Marine Corps and worked as a line technician.
Along with his parents, he is survived by his grandparents, Robert Hellrung of Alton and Linda Maronie of Wood River, aunt and uncle, Melissa and Doug King of Godfrey and cousins, Elise and Sophia King.
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Anna Setser, grandfather, Danny Maronie and his beloved cat of 19 years, Travis.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until time of funeral service at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, February 25, 2024 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton with full military honors.
