Douglas Williamson

Douglas Leroy Williamson, age 70 of Highland, IL, died Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at his home in Highland, IL.

He was born on Monday, December 13, 1954, in St. Louis, MO, the son of Leroy and Sally (nee Milum) Williamson.

On Saturday, September 28, 1974, he married Sheila A. Williamson (nee Wilkins) in Florissant, Missouri, who survives.

Doug grew up in Ferguson, MO. He graduated from McCluer High School with the class of 1973. He worked at Busch Stadium for several years after high school, before working for Hazelwood School District in the maintenance department until his retirement after 33 years. He was a member of Electrician’s Union Local #1.

Doug loved to fish, especially with his grandson, Tristin. He also enjoyed riding his motorcycle all over the rural roads around Madison County, where he lived for the last 35 years of his life.

He is survived by his wife - Sheila A. (nee Wilkins) Williamson, daughter - Leah Marie Young, grandson - Tristin G. (Courtney) Young, brothers - Rick B. Williamson and Mike S. Williamson, stepsister - Sheila (Dean) Purdy, stepbrother - Rick (Jean) Calvert, brother-in-law - John (Brenda) Wilkins, and many extended family members including in-laws, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father - Leroy Williamson, mother - Sally Calvert and stepfather - Lucian Calvert.

Arrangements are being handled by Spengel-Boulanger Funeral Home in Highland, IL.

A Private Family Celebration of life is planned for a later date.
