Douglas E. Ennen, age 74 of Greenville, passed away at home suddenly on Tuesday, December 16, 2025.
Douglas Edward, the son of Edward and Viola (Potts) Ennen, was born August 20, 1951, in Hillsboro, Illinois. One of three siblings, Douglas grew up in Bond County and attended both Pleasant Mound and Smithboro Schools. He graduated from Mulberry Grove High School.
Drafted into the United States Army, Doug went to basic training at Ft. Leaonard Wood. He then was sent to Korea, stationed there for 2 years. He was honorably discharged and returned to Bond County to farm. Douglas was born into the farming life and continued and owned and operated the Ennen Farm.
Surviving is his daughter Crystal L. Ennen of Vernon, Illinois and his granddaughter Aubree Leidner. Also surviving are his two siblings: Vicky (Ron) Jansen of Carlyle, Illinois and David (Kay) Ennen of Hookdale.
Preceded in death by his parents and grandson Bryce.
There will be a gathering of family and friends at the VFW in Greenville on January 17, 2026, starting at 2:00 p.m. You are welcome to attend and celebrate the life of Douglas.
