Dorothy V. Henry, 86 of Glen Carbon, Illinois passed away on Sunday, September 9, 2018 at Anderson Hospital.
Dorothy was born on February 13, 1932 in Tyrone, Missouri; the daughter of the late Ted and Bertha (Smith) McKinney. Dorothy was a Medical Technologist at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Danville, Illinois and in her free time she enjoyed her days of gardening and following Chicago Cubs Baseball. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and she will be remembered for all the special times they shared together.
Dorothy is survived by and will be missed by her children; Robert Henry of Granite City, Illinois, Donald Henry of Granite City, Illinois, Debra (Paul) Stayduhar of Glen Carbon, Illinois, Marilyn Arnzen of Richland, Washington; grandchildren, Terry (Monica) Decker, Hilary (Andrew) Willis, Kyle Arnzen, Caitlyn Stayduhar; great-grandchildren, Keara Decker, Savain Willis, Chloe Willis; sisters, Jewel McKinney, Gladys (Ralph) Garett, Carol Terrill; brother, Keith McKinney.
In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband; Dale G. Henry, whom she married on December 16, 1948; daughter, Carol Decker; son-n-law, Douglas Arnzen; her sisters, Wilma Douglas, Betty Goodman; her brothers, Walter McKinney, Jack McKinney, Kenneth McKinney.
In celebration of Dorothy’s life a visitation will be held on Thursday, September 13, 2018 from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Carl Watkins officiating at Irwin Chapel, 591 Glen Crossing Road in Glen Carbon. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon. Memorials are suggested to VITAS Hospice.
