Dorothy "Tiny" Halford, 73, died at 9:39 p.m. Saturday, December 26th at Alton Memorial Hospital. She was born January 6, 1936 in Dow, Illinois to Charles and Athalene (McGiffen) Goheen.
On July 7, 1954 in Alton she married James E. Halford. She retired after 18 years with Famous Barr in the credit office. She was a life long member of Alton Wood River Sportsman's club and a member of the Alton Motorboat Club.
Besides her husband and father she is survived by one daughter; Debbie and her husband Collie Wedding of Godfrey, one son; Jim and his wife Rhonda Halford of Denver, North Carolina, five grandchildren; Amy Arnold (Tim), Jennifer Henkhaus (Tony), Marissa Rogers (Kelly), Derek Halford (Ahni), and Brent Halford. Four great-grandchildren; Katelyn and Kamryn Rogers, Jacob Halford and Gus Arnold. Two sisters; Charlene Morgan of Jerseyville and Kay Stassi of Batchtown.
Visitation will be Tuesday, December 29, 2009 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Gent Funeral Home in Alton where funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday with burial at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
