Dorothy Stubblefield Stutz, 101, of Alton passed away at 4:06 pm on Thurs April 6, 2017 at Home.She was born in East St Louis, IL on May 29, 1915 to the late Cyril B & Minnie (Richard) Steber. She attended St Mary of Help Catholic School in Chester, IL and Notre Dame Academy of Belleville, IL.She married Frank Stubblefield on July 29, 1934 who died May 6, 1974. She married John Stutz on Jan 6, 1979 he also preceded her in death on Aug 10, 2001.She is survived by her favorite daughter, Elizabeth Stutz of Alton and step-children, Mary Tarrant of Alton, , Beverly Stutz of Alton, Joe & Jackie Stutz of FL and Loretta Stutz of Alton. Also surviving is her special nephew, Eddie Hennessy of Joliet, IL, special nieces, Jackie Dalton of Brighton and Jan Davenport of Godfrey, 28 Grandchildren, 70 Great Grandchildren, 51 Great Great Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.She is preceded in death by her parents, husbands and a son and daughter in law, Edward and Dorothy Stubblefield, Stepchildren: Gerald & Mary Esther Stutz, Robert Stutz and Edward Stutz, Grandson: Joe Stutz, Brothers and Sisters in laws: Bill & Jewell Stutz, Clarence & Viola Davenport, Arthur & Adelaide Brooks, Stanley & Marie Meyer, Ray & Freda Card and Walter & Mary Stutz.She was a long time member of St Alphonsus Catholic Church in Brighton.Visitation will be 2-6 pm on Sun April 9, 2017 at the Targhetta & Wooldridge F H in Brighton  Rosary Services will be at 2 pm on SundayFuneral Mass will be at 10 am on Mon April 10, 2017 at St Alphonsus Catholic Church in Brighton with Fr William Kessler officiating.Burial will be in the Miles Station Cemetery, BrightonIn lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to masses or the St Alphonsus Building Fund or Heartland Hospice.The family would like to express their gratitude for the wonderful care provided by Dr Mark Woodson, Crystal, Alex and Thomas of Heartland Hospice.Online information and guestbook may be found at targhettaandwooldridge.com
