JERSEYVILLE-  Dorothy Pearl Schrieber, 90, went peacefully in her sleep at 5:30 p.m., Monday, October 3, 2016 at her home.She was born in Waverly, IL., on March 4, 1926 and was the daughter of Charles Emory Barrington and Meta Pearl (Utt) Fenstermaker.Throughout her life, Dorothy worked in various jobs.  However, she was best known as the "go to lady" to get any garment fixed with a guarantee.  She owned and operated her own small sewing shop for many years, and many of us became dependant on her skills and dependability.She married Donald L. Schrieber on March 16, 1946 in Pocahontas, Arkansas and together they shared 39 years and were the parents of five children, prior to his death on June 7, 2005.Surviving are three daughters and a son in law, Jane and  Bill Holmes of Jerseyville, Donna K. Keltner of Beardstown, and Annabelle Schrieber of Jerseyville; a son, Luke Schrieber of Jerseyville; eight grandchildren and their spouses, Billy and Kelly Holmes Jr., Christy A. Holmes, and her companion, Tim Plummer all of Jerseyville, Keith and Nadia Schrieber of Godfrey, Joyce M. and Jason Crews of Beardstown, Pearl A. and Chris Dusenbery of Murrayville, Jeremy and Erin Schrieber of Jerseyville, Catherine Slaughter of Hamilton and Adam Schrieber of Jerseyville; 19 Great Grandchildren, Michael, Katlyn and Cortney of Jerseyville, Ashley of White Hall, Dakota of Jerseyvllle, Dominic and Tierney of Beardstown, Johnathon, Ashley, Cheyanne and Corina of Beardstown, Aiyana, Dustin, and William of Ashland, James, Samantha and Brooklyn of Hamilton, Megan and Katie of Jerseyville; a brother, Howard A. Fenstermaker of Jerseyville; a sister in law, Laura Fenstermaker of Jerseyville; along with numerous nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Margret; three brothers, Charles Fenstermaker, Leo Fenstermaker, and Earl "Skippy" Fenstermaker; and a sister, Eva Wilcox.Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m., Monday at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday.  Rev. Sonny Renken will officiate.She will be laid to rest alongside her husband at the Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville.Memorials may be given to her family in care of the funeral home.
