Dorothy Lyons went to her heavenly resting place June 18th. Born January 6, 1926 to Clarence and Clara Carr in Ware, Texas.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Elmer and Richard Carr; her sisters, Lena Mae Wooff and Ruby Nolan as well as a daughter, Pat Gaither and son, Ed Lyons, 2 grandchildren and 1 great grandson, as well as son-in-law, Wendel Parrish.
She is survived by sons, Toby (Karen) Lyons, Larry (Debbie) Lyons; a daughter, Sue Parrish, several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
In her younger days she enjoyed several different things. She was a Life Member of VFW Auxiliary 1308.
Visitation will be Tuesday, June 23rd from 10 to 12 pm at Gent Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Alton. Interment to follow at Oakwood Cemetery (aka Upper Alton cemetery). A small dinner will follow, given by the VFW Auxiliary.
