Dorothy K. Holtmann, age 91, of Glen Carbon, Illinois died at 6:40 a.m. Sunday, February 19, 2017, at Anderson Hospital in Maryville. Dorothy was retired from the Madison County Nursing Home. She was born November 9, 1925, in Pin Oak Township, IL the daughter of the late Henry Daniel & Wilhelmina (Bartels) Schaake. She married Milton G. Holtmann on October 18, 1947, at Eden United Church of Christ in Edwardsville. He preceded her in death on June 4, 1990. Dorothy is survived by 1 daughter, Beverly Meyer & husband Wayne of Edwardsville; 2 sons, Clyde W. Holtmann of Glen Carbon and Danny R. Holtmann & wife Jane of Edwardsville; 4 grandchildren, Gerry Meyer & wife Catalina of Crystal Lake, IL, Gary Meyer of Normal, IL, Frederick Holtmann of Edwardsville, and George Eli Holtmann of Wood River; and 5 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Elmer, Walter, & Raymond Schaake. Dorothy was a member of Frieden’s United Church of Christ in Troy and the Frieden Women’s Guild. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, February 23, 2017, at Weber & Rodney Funeral Home. Visitation will continue from 9 am until service time at 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 24, 2017, at Frieden’s United Church of Christ in Troy with Rev. Doug Seagle officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Frieden’s Seminary Scholarship Fund.
