Dorothy Jean Johnson, age 85, of Alton, passed away Monday, January 7, 2019, at St. Anthony Health Care Center in Alton.
She was born March 6, 1933, in Raleigh, IL, the daughter of Clifford and Jeanette (Lynn) Farmer. She married Harold E. Johnson on May 29, 1949 and he preceded her in death in November of 2011.
Dorothy loved doing crafts with her husband. She and Harold enjoyed square dancing in their younger days. Dorothy enjoyed doing yardwork for many years. She and her husband drove the River Road eagle watching nearly every day.
She is survived by three daughters and their spouses, Dianne Elario of Beverly, MA, Chris (Dennis) Sharp of Godfrey, and Annette (Rob) Milazzo of Bethalto; eleven grandchildren, Alec Ward, Tina Ward, Scott Ward, Corey Elario, Derek Elario, Dan Elario, Greg Johnson, Brandon Sharp, Andrea Sharp, Matt Sharp, and Danielle Milazzo; many great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
In addition to her husband, Harold; she is preceded in death by her parents; a son, Rick Johnson; two sisters, Juanita Barnes, and Millie East; and a brother, Clifford Farmer.
A private family burial will be held at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Louis Children?s Hospital or to 5 A?s.
