Dorothy Wooten

Dorothy J. Wooten, 79, went to be with her Lord and savior at 6:15 p.m. on Wednesday, March 1, 2017, with her loving daughters by her side.She was born December 12, 1937, in Glover, Missouri, the daughter of Robert and Paralee O’Connor.She married her high school sweetheart, Jimmy Wooten, on May 24, 1955. They shared a wonderful life together until his death in 2008.Dorothy studied the Bible every day. She enjoyed church, crocheting, artwork, and dining with her friends at United Methodist Village. Her greatest joy was her family.Dorothy leaves behind “her girls”, Sheree (Greg) Fuchs of Godfrey, Lesa (Glen) Lemons of Godfrey; a sister, Judy Vail of Alton; grandsons, Josh (Tammy) Corrington, Kyle Corrington; and six great grandchildren, Carson, Deacon, Jake, Braden, Raegan, and Logan.In addition to her parents and husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia McKinney and one grandson, Justin Walker.There will be a private graveside service at a later date.Elias, Kallal, and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto is in charge of arrangements.In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to OSF St. Anthony’s Hospice or Faith Community Church in Alton.Online condolences and guest book may be found at www.eliaskallalandschaaf.com
