Alton--Dorothy Etta Blankenship-Vitale, 85, passed away at 6 p.m. Friday, July 7, 2017 at her home.
Born Nov. 26, 1931, she was a daughter of Lawrence Sutton and Carrie (Henson) Hogan.
She was a baker worker for Hostess Cakes for 37 years.
Dorothy loved her family, and she will be missed by a daughter, Carolyn Gwen Collins of Alton; 2 grandchildren, John (Rose) Collins and Angela (Glen) Thomas; and 6 great grandchildren, Alyssa Collins, Ash Thomas, Emily Collins, Nathan Thomas, Ryan Collins and Carah Collins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Paul Wayne Blankenship and Larry Monroe Blankenship; a sister, Aileen Freeman; and a brother, John Sutton.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, July 12 at Paynic Home for Funerals, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 13.
Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in St. Louis.
