Dorothy Whisler

Dorothy Elizabeth (Anghouse) Whisler, age 98 died November 20, 2016, at Alton Memorial Hospital, Alton, Illinois. She resided at Morningside at Godfrey.

Born April 8, 1918 in Jackson County , Illinois she was the daughter of  the late Fred and Elizabeth (Bunselmeyer) Anghouse.

On October 11, 1941, she and Kenneth A. Whisler were married in Richmond Heights, Missouri.  He preceded her in death on September 19, 2012

Dorothy graduated from Cora High School in 1935.

Dorothy was a Homemaker and loved to read books, do needle works and spend time with family and friends. 

Dorothy was a member of College Avenue Presbyterian Church, Alton, Illinois.

She is survived by a son, David L. Whisler and his wife Pamela of Godfrey, Illinois; two grandchildren and their spouses, Matthew and Kristin Whisler of Arlington Heights, Illinois  and James and Amy Whisler of Webster Groves, Missouri.  Four Great Grandchildren - Twins Kiley and Quinn Whisler, Anna James and

William David Whisler.

Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one son Larry Kenneth Whisler, a brother George Anghouse and a sister, Evelyn

Moist.

Visitation will from 10 am until time of Funeral service at 11 am Saturday November 26, 2016 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey with Pastor Ken Morgan officiating.

Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.

Memorials may be made to Beverly Farm Foundation of Godfrey, Illinois.
