Doris McFalls

Doris Ann McFalls, 82, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 8:02 a.m. on Friday, October 31, 2025, at Christian Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.

Born September 15, 1943, in Granite City, a daughter of the late Joseph and Mildred (Caffrey) Dallas.

She married the love of her life, Gary E. McFalls Sr. on September 29, 1962, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Granite City and he passed away on June 9, 2001.

Doris was a faithful member of Holy Family Catholic Church and served many years with the funeral luncheon committee. She enjoyed her days of crocheting, baking, cooking, raising her indoor plants and tending to her yard along with her husband. She loved the holidays, hosting family gatherings and was known for her love of making Christmas cookies and candies. She was always willing to help others, loved caring for family and will be remembered for the love and special times shared with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and extended family.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Kevin Whitt; a son and daughter-in-law, Gary E. and Jeannie McFalls Jr.; granddaughter and her husband, Jennifer and Andrew Mell; great grandchildren, Evan Mell and Valerie Mell, all of Granite City; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Norma and Paul Kacera of Granite City, Janet and Patrick Doyle of Highland, Margaret and Joseph Groboski of Highland; sisters-in-law, Melba Russell of Union, Missouri and Sherrill Clinard of Granite City and Sharon Price of Shiloh; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Larry and Theresa McFalls of VanZant, Missouri; nieces and nephews; other extended family and friends.

In celebration of her life, visitation will be at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City on Sunday, November 9, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church, 2606 Washington Avenue in Granite City on Monday, November 10, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. with Father Jeff Holtman as celebrant.

Burial will follow at Calvary Catholic Church in Edwardsville.

Memorials may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church, Holy Family Catholic School or to Masses.
