Dora Julia Harris, 88, died at 4:15 a.m. Sunday, May 31, 2015 at the Methodist Village in Godfrey. Born November 3, 1926 in Macoupin County, IL, she was the daughter of Henry and Julie (Pelot) Fritz. Mrs. Harris was a selector for Owens Illinois Glass in Alton retiring in 1982 after 27 years of service. She was a member of Heartland Baptist Church in Alton. On October 12, 1941 she married Laverne Kitzmiller. He preceded her in death on April 17, 1964. She married Ralph E. Harris on July 18, 1975 in Alton. He preceded her in death on March 4, 2012. Surviving is a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Marji Kitzmiller of Sterling, VA, a step-daughter, Cathy Potter of East Alton, six grandchildren, Shari Hames of Westminster, Maryland, Robert Kitzmiller of Cottage Hills, Ronald Kitzmiller of Waldorf, Maryland, Ric Kitzmiller of Maryville, Debbie Comereski of Brighton, and Jeff Cairns of Brighton and numerous nieces and nephews. Along with her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by a son and daughter-in-law, Vernon and Nancy Kitzmiller, a step-son, Timothy Harris, four brothers, Henry, Harold, Carl and Francis Fritz, and a sister, Bessie Fowler. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 4, 2015 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Dr. Jim Grant will officiate.
