Kane |

Donna Kay Yelliott, 76, passed away at 5:00 a.m., Sunday, November 26, 2023 at Memorial Hospital in Belleville.

She was born on October 27, 1947 in Alton, Illinois, one of two daughters born to Donald and Myrtle (Taylor) Pointer, and was a 1965 graduate of Jersey Community High School.

After the birth of her daughter, Donna was a devoted stay at home mother. Later in life, she worked for a period of time as a Police Dispatcher as well as a Secretary with the family business, White Way Sanitation, until it’s closure.

She enjoyed shopping, crafting and sewing, until she was no longer physically able to do so.

She enjoyed spending time with her family any chance she could, and was blessed to have shared a home with her daughter and granddaughter. Together they enjoyed sharing in one another’s company and sitting around the living room watching TV, with “Blue Bloods” being amongst their favorites.

Surviving are her mother, Myrtle Pointer of Jerseyville; her daughter, Marlena Rogers and granddaughter, Kelsey Rogers, both of Kane; a sister and brother in-law, Paulette and Tom Hydrick of Brighton; as well as a niece, Sara Randall.

She was preceded in death by her father, Donald Pointer; a granddaughter, Kayla Yelliott and a son in-law, Harold Rogers.

Memorial Visitation will be held at Heartland Baptist Church, 4500 Humbert Road, Alton, IL 62002, from 10:30 a.m. until time of Memorial Service at 12 p.m., Friday, December 8, 2023.
