Donna K. Gibson, 78, of Girard, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, February 6, 2024.
She was born on November 4, 1945, in Springfield, the daughter of the late John and Alberta (Franklin) Selinger.
Donna graduated from Bevier High School in Bevier, MO, in 1965. She attended Gallaudet University in Washington D.C., a school for the hearing impaired. Donna married the love of her life William “Bill” Gibson Sr. on December 23, 1967. Donna devoted her life to taking care of her family. She loved bowling and participated in women’s league in Girard and Virden for a number of years. Her door was always open and she would welcome you with a glass of her signature sweet tea.
She is survived by her husband, Bill; three sons, William Gibson Jr. of Girard, Randy (Julie) Gibson of Chesterfield, and Brian Gibson of Chesterfield; three step daughters June (Rodney) Hall of Bunker Hill, Donna (Kerry) Hanke of Glen Carbon, and Sherry (Steve) Simcox of Jerseyville; grandchildren, Gage (Cheyenne), Hannah, Hallie, Brailyn, Breckyn, Brinlyn, Charlie, Scott, Rashelle, Kyle, and Jacqueline; 8 great grandchildren with another on the way; sister Mary Lou Bell.
Donna was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary; grandchildren Adria and Michael; brother Danny Selinger.
Visitation will be held from 10 am until the time of funeral service at noon on Saturday, February 10, 2024, at Anderson Family Funeral Home in Brighton.
Burial will follow at Shipman Cemetery.
