Donna Kay Brown, 63, of Granite City, Illinois passed away at 10:58 a.m. on Monday, October 6, 2025, at her home.
She was born December 28, 1961, in Highland, Illinois, a daughter of the late Neal Smith and Ruth Ann (Bain) McEntyre.
Donna worked at Checker Cab with nearly 40 years of dedicated service as a dispatcher. A member of Word of Life Tabernacle, Donna’s warmth and generosity extended well beyond her family. She was known for her love of diamond painting, all things Betty Boop and Garfield, and her passion for country music—especially George Strait and Alabama. She also enjoyed watching Jeff Gordon and Roman Reigns. She cherished family and friends and will be remembered for the love and special times she shared.
She is survived by a daughter, Samantha Brown of St. Louis; two brothers, Terry (Shannon) McEntyre of Granite City and Paul (Tara) McEntyre of Granite City; four sisters, Debra Smith of Granite City, Lisa (Mike Wood) Strom of Granite City, Connie (Terry) Clevenger of Granite City and Delta (David) Vines of St. Louis; many cherished “adopted” children and grandchildren that she loved and cared for as her own. She also leaves behind her cherished fur baby, Bobo; other extended family and many friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Vernon McEntyre; a daughter, Erica Brown and two sisters, Rebecca Hutchins and Lynn Dunn.
In celebration of her life, visitation will be at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. until time of a memorial service at 7:00 p.m.
