Donna Althoff

Donna Raye (Jones) Althoff, 75, of Roxana and formerly of Hartford, Illinois passed away at 10:38 a.m. on Sunday, April 7, 2024, at the Alton Memorial Rehab in Alton, Illinois.  She was born July 8, 1948, in Ironton, Missouri, a daughter of the late Raymond E. and Georgia Lucille (Basden) Jones.  She married Leland “Sonny” Althoff in Hartford on March 24, 1981, and he survives.  Donna had worked as a florist for several years at the Christian Northeast Hospital gift shop and had served as a volunteer with the South Roxana Fire Department.  Donna had a love and talent working with crafts and enjoyed her years of owning and operating the Hen House Ceramics in Hartford.  She spent many years with family and friends going to Piedmont, Missouri with many adventures of fishing on Clearwater Lake.  She also enjoyed reading and cherished her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Donna will be remembered for the love and special times shared with her family and friends.  In addition to her beloved husband of 42 years, she is survived by her devoted daughter, Kristy Scott of Roxana; three grandchildren, Kyle and Lindsay Scott, Kelee Scott and Jada Hanbaum; five great grandchildren, Jaylee Holliday, Brilee Holliday, Tristan Bassett, Kynleigh Scott and Aspyn Scott; a brother, Rick Jones of Wood River; two sisters-in-law, Ann Jones of Hartford and Sharon Rike of Pine City, Minnesota; brother-in-law, Gary “Skip” Althoff of Rush City, Minnesota; many nieces; nephews; cousins; other extended family and friends.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Michael David Hanbaum; great grandson, Hunter Holliday and a brother, Gary Jones.

In celebration of her life, visitation will be at Irwin Chapel, 591 Glen Crossing Road in Glen Carbon on Saturday, April 13, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 12:30 p.m.  Burial will follow at Wanda Cemetery in South Roxana, Illinois.  Memorials may be made to the family and can be accepted at the funeral chapel.  www.irwinchapel.com
