Donald William Davis, age 81, of Fosterburg, passed away Sunday, September 17, at his home surrounded by his family.He was born November 28, 1935, in Carlinville, IL, the son of Clarence and Etta (Jones) Davis. He married Eileen Marie Hess on September 21, 1957 in Fosterburg, and she preceded him in death on November 30, 2004.Donald had retired as a bricklayer from LaClede Steel. He enjoyed farming, camping, traveling, and spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He was a former member of the First Baptist Church in Fosterburg and was currently attending the Berean Baptist Church in Bunker Hill.He is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Joan and Paul Barbary of Fosterburg and Jane Langendorf of Holiday Shores; a son and daughter-in-law, Don and Mary Ellen Davis of Fosterburg; seven grandchildren and their spouses, Amy and Patrick Maher, Jamie and Brian Goebel, Michael and Stephanie Quinn, Michelle Owings, Jamie and Matt Baugh, Joshua and Jessica Barbary, and Jeremy and Rita Barbary; and twelve great-grandchildren, Riley Dempsey, Christina Phipps, Ben and Evelyn Goebel, Katelyn, Lauren and Allison Maher, Matthew, Nicholas, and Haylee Winchester, Andrew and Bailey Barbary, and one on the way, Jameson Owings; three sisters-in-law, Mary, Beulah, and Patricia Davis; his beloved companion, his dog, Taco; and many other relatives and friends.In addition to his wife, Eileen; he was preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Raymond, Paul, and Morris Davis.Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 20, 2017 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton.Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 21, 2017 at 10:00 am in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Jeff Warix officiating.Burial will take place in Fosterburg Cemetery.Memorials may be made to Berean Baptist Church in Bunker Hill or to a charity of one’s choice.Online condolences and guest book may be found at www.eliaskallalandschaaf.com
