Donald V. Miller, 80, died at 2:50 p.m. on Thursday, March 29, 2018 at Evelyn’s House in Creve Coeur, MO He was born in Chicago on July 29, 1937 the son of the late Vincent F. Miller and Marie (Wills) Miller Pilch. Don had a master’s degree in business from Harvard University and was a U.S. Navy veteran. He was the publisher of the Alton Telegraph and enjoyed writing his column long after retirement. He also was the former publisher of the Suburban Journals and had retired as president of the Growth Association. On July 29, 1967 in Chicago he married Shirley (Inman) and she preceded him in death on September 8, 2013. Surviving are two daughters, Claudine Miller (David Flanagan) of St. Louis, MO and Laurel Montecinos (Jim) of Wentzville, MO, three grandchildren, Nicolas, Jayce and Daniel and two step-grandchildren, Andrea and Patti. He was preceded in death by two brothers, James Miller and Robert Miller Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday, April 2, 2018 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton where funeral services will be at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 3, 2018. Deacon William Kessler will officiate. Full military honors will be from Alton VFW Post 1308. Burial will be private. Memorials may be made to Evelyn’s House, P.O.
