Donald Tarrant, age 78, of Alton, passed away on Sunday, May 6, 2018, at his home.
He was born July 7, 1939, in Midway, IL, the son of the late Milton R. and the late Mary L. (Keasler) Tarrant. Donald married Donna E. Smith on August 1, 1959 in Fosterburg. She survives.
Donald is a veteran of the United States Air Force. He retired as a machinist from Olin Corporation. He was also a member of the Main Street Methodist Church in Alton.
In addition to his wife he is survived by four daughters and their spouses; Dawn and Ken Powell, Terri and Ray Brackney, Wendy and David Bailey, Jr. and Heather and Terry Cory; six grandchildren, Josh and Laura Droste, Danielle and Craig Goetten, Spencer Bailey and fiancé Nicole Leon, Ethan Bailey, Jessica Bailey and Ben Tefertiller; a great granddaughter, Coraline; six siblings and their spouses, Dean Tarrant, Dorothy and Darrell Hawkins, Shirley and Dan McCalley, Ron and Janet Tarrant, Jeanette McCarthy, Dick and Jan Tarrant.
He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Lloyd Gene Tarrant and a sister, Linda Sue Spurgeon.
Services will be private. Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto is in charge of arrangements.
