Donald Mills

Donald T. Mills, 68, died at 7:48 a.m. on Sunday, March 8, 2026 at OSF St. Anthony’s Hospital.

He was born November 28, 1957 in Parsons, KS, the son of the late George Sabin and Jacqualine (Minton) Mills. He worked for King-Bush Heating and Cooling. On June 12, 1999 in Alton, he married Sue Ann Hughey and she survives. 

Also surviving are one son, Matt Maronie (Krystal) of Jerseyville, three stepsons, Josh Coleman (Becky) of Alton, Shawn Coleman of Alton, Tyler Coleman of Godfrey, ten grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, two brothers, Bill Mills (Jeanne) of Parsons, KS, John Mills (Kathy) of Roxana and four sisters, Linda Mills of Alton, Debby Simpson of Alton, Julie Umiker (Tom) of Plant City, FL and Georgia Drake (Mike) of Alton, many nieces and nephews and his two cats, Henry and Ella Bleu.

Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by one brother, Schuyler Mills.

A memorial visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until time of memorial service at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Pastor Daymond Talkington will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a GoFundMe account in his name.
