Donald Lloyd Thompson, 76, of Shiloh, passed away on Tuesday, October 2, 2018, at 3:07 pm in Medora, IL.
He was born on May 26, 1942, in Tamms, IL, the son of Benjamin and Violet Thompson. He married Louise Blasingim in Madison County in 1961, they later divorced. She passed on October 20, 2009.
Donald was a truck driver for 21 years in the Illinois and Missouri area.
He is survived by his significant other, Carol Sorce, whom he has been with for 25 years; five children and their spouses, Susan (David) Ross of Medora, IL, Ronnie (Susie) Thompson of Pocohantas, IL, Larry (Tammy) Thompson of Alton, IL, Bennie Thomson of Cottage Hills, and Karla (Peter) Grant of Medowbrook, IL; a sister, Carmen (John) Williams of Pontoon Beach, IL; two brothers, Wesley Thompson of Granite City, IL and Wayne (Lois) Thompson of Glen Carbon, IL; sixteen grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Tony Thompson; three brothers, Carl, Jerry and Billy Thompson; and a sister, Sue Thompson.
Visitation will be on Monday, October 8, 2018 from 10:00 am until time of service at 12:00 pm, at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto. Pastor Joe Dunnagan will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery in Glen Carbon.
